Leadership
This text and image are examining whether or not General Pershing, who has experience from the Punitive Expedition will lead the American forces as the United States has declared involvement in the European War. As the article states, Pershing is known to have the confidence of administration officials because of his military record. He would make a fine choice for the senior military leadership for the American forces in Europe.
--Pershing would eventually be selected as the commander of the American Expeditionary Forces. It should also be noted that General Funston was highly regarded by President Wilson and actually considered for the position to lead the forces in Europe until Funston's heart attack in 1917 that would be the cause of his death.
