This first article shows a scene of the operations against Villa. Click on the image to get a closer look as it is relatively blurry. The army is preparing for invasion and is massing troops at the Southern border. Villa is said to had fled to the mountains. The second article is important as it details how General Funston was adamant that the American troops would not be sent out unless fully prepared and ready to engage with the enemy forces. The military leadership knew that the Punitive Expedition would be a careful undertaking and they did not want to go into the operation hastily. The American military is continuing with the troop massing at the border and will soon cross to carry out the missions.
